1. Scope of Services

India Sattvik Trails provides curated retreats, travel experiences, and spiritual journeys across India. By booking a journey with us, you agree to be bound by these terms.

2. Booking and Payments

• Reservation: A booking is confirmed only upon receipt of the initial deposit — defined as per each route but not less than 25% of the total trip cost — and a completed booking form.
• Final Payment: The final balance must be paid at least 30 days prior to the departure date. For bookings made within 30 days of departure, full payment is required at the time of booking.
• Pricing: All prices are quoted in Indian Rupees (INR). International travellers may pay in USD or CAD at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of booking confirmation. Prices are based on current costs of services, taxes, and exchange rates.
• We reserve the right to adjust prices in the event of significant government tax hikes or fuel surcharges.

3. Cancellation and Refund Policy

We understand that plans change. However, as we work with boutique stays and specialised local partners, the following cancellation charges apply:

• 60+ days before departure: Full refund minus an administrative processing fee of ₹2,500 per person.
• 30–59 days before departure: Loss of initial deposit.
• 15–29 days before departure: 50% of total trip cost.
• 0–14 days before departure: 100% of total trip cost. No refund.

Refunds will not be issued for unused services, missed meals, or early departures from a trip.

4. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance covering trip cancellation, medical emergencies, evacuation, and loss of luggage is mandatory for all international bookings and strongly recommended for all travellers.

India Sattvik Trails is not responsible for costs arising from the absence of adequate travel insurance coverage.

5. Health and Fitness

Our itineraries often involve slow travel and holistic experiences that may include light walking, temple visits, or high-altitude locations.

It is the traveller’s responsibility to ensure they are medically fit for the journey.

Any pre-existing medical conditions or dietary allergies must be disclosed at the time of booking to ensure a safe and comfortable experience for all.

6. Code of Conduct

We pride ourselves on creating a tranquil and respectful environment for all travellers.

• Clients are expected to respect local traditions, sacred sites, and the natural environment at all times.
• In keeping with the spirit of our journeys, we encourage mindful and conscious travel.
• Any behaviour that significantly disrupts the tranquillity of the group or violates local cultural norms may result in termination of participation without refund.

7. Photography and Testimonials

India Sattvik Trails may use photographs, feedback, or testimonials from your journey for promotional and marketing purposes unless you opt out in writing at the time of booking.

Your name will only be used with your explicit consent.

8. Group Size and Tour Operation

Our journeys are designed for small, intimate groups.

• Tours operate with a minimum number of participants as specified per route.
• If a tour does not reach its minimum requirement, we will offer an alternative departure date or a full refund.
• India Sattvik Trails reserves the right to combine groups where appropriate to maintain journey quality.

9. Alterations and Force Majeure

• Itinerary Changes: We reserve the right to modify itineraries due to unforeseen circumstances including weather, road conditions, or temple schedules to ensure traveller safety and comfort.
• Force Majeure: India Sattvik Trails is not liable for delays, cancellations, or additional expenses caused by natural disasters, strikes, pandemics, government restrictions, or events beyond our reasonable control.

10. Limitation of Liability

While we carefully select accommodation partners, transporters, and guides:

• India Sattvik Trails acts as an agent for third-party service providers including hotels, transport operators, and local guides.
• We are not responsible for injury, loss, or damage unless caused directly by our negligence.
• We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance prior to departure.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India.

Any disputes arising shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Delhi, India.
